Overview
The 2024-25 season will kick off in July 2024 with the Durand Cup following a similar pattern to the previous season.
In addition to the commencement of the 2024-25 football season, the AIFF has outlined a nine-month window for AIFF Youth Leagues across U-13, U-15, and U-17 categories.
This extended period aims to facilitate the development of young players, providing them with ample opportunities to play and improve throughout the year. More details about this are awaited.
AIFF has also announced that the Indian Super League, I-League, and the Super Cup will run simultaneously in the 2024-25 season.
There is also a piece of positive news for Women’s football in India as the Indian Women’s League (IWL) is set to have a six-month window. The prolonged duration of the league is expected to benefit Indian women footballers, ensuring they stay in top form and enhance their overall gameplay.
Competitions:
Durand Cup
Durand Cup is the most prestigious cup competition in India and it will kick off the 2024-25 season in India. The 2024-25 Durand Cup will commence on July 26, 2024, and will run until August 31, 2024.
Indian Super League (ISL)
The 2024-25 season of the Indian Super League (ISL), is scheduled to commence on September 14, 2024, following the conclusion of the 2024 Durand Cup and will conclude on April 30, 2025.
The Indian Super League will run parallel to the 2024-25 editions of the I-League and the Indian Women’s League.
I-League
The I-League is the second division of Indian Football. The 2024-25 I-League will start on October 19, 2024, and conclude on April 30, 2025.
Super Cup
The Super Cup is the premier cup competition in Indian Football and it will run concurrently with the Indian Super League and the I-League and is set to begin on October 1, 2024.
Indian Women’s League (IWL)
The Prolonged Indian Women’s League is scheduled to last for six months, beginning on October 25, 2024, and concluding on April 30, 2025.
