The decision to withdraw from traveling to Iran for the AFC Champions League 2 is unacceptable and disgraceful. As a supporter, I feel betrayed, humiliated, and furious. This was supposed to be a defining moment in the club’s modern history, an opportunity to compete on the international stage, to show Indian football’s progress, and to give fans like me the pride of seeing Mohun Bagan stand shoulder to shoulder with Asia’s best. Instead, it has turned into a setback that reflects poorly on both the club and the country.
The excitement for these ACL 2 fixtures was immense. Fans waited eagerly to watch our team play against the best in Asia so we could stand by them throughout the whole campaign. By refusing to play, the club has robbed its fans of that experience. You have turned hope into disappointment.
What is the point of investing heavily in foreign players, offering them lucrative contracts, and building an expensive squad if the team cannot compete where it matters most? Without international ambition, these signings are empty, the promises hollow, and the reputation stained.
This is not simply about two games. It is about principle, pride, and identity. Mohun Bagan was built on courage, resilience, and representing India with dignity. When the club shrinks from competition, it abandons its own history. The management’s decision reflects weak leadership, poor planning, and disregard for the supporters who have carried this institution through its highs and lows.

The consequences are severe. Fans are disillusioned. The club’s reputation across Asia is damaged. Instead of being remembered for competing in the ACL, Mohun Bagan will be remembered for walking away. That is not the legacy this club deserves.
You owe answers, not excuses. Supporters deserve accountability for why this happened and how such a failure was allowed. Mohun Bagan must remember that it does not belong to its management alone, but belongs to every fan who believes in its badge, its history, and its honor. Right now, that honor has been disgraced.
