The early kickoff of the Merseyside derby saw Liverpool go 5 in 5 as they cruised past Everton. Liverpool will continue to top the league as they are maintaining their winning streak courtesy of goals from Gravenberch & Ekitike.
The two early strikes in the first half proved to be the fatal blow for David Moyes’s men as they couldn’t rescue a draw despite their late efforts.
As It Happened
Liverpool started on the front foot & Everton allowed that; they were trying to replicate what Burnley did against the Kopites the previous week. But it took only 10 minutes for Liverpool to break the deadlock as Salah played a loopy ball on the right-hand side, which was slotted beautifully by Granveberch, the man who orchestrated the move.
Before Everton realised they were flooded by a series of Liverpool attacks & they couldn’t contain the pressure, hence they conceded another. Ekitike combined with Gravenberch & scored his 4th goal for the Reds.
Grealish was the only man who looked dangerous for Everton; the rest of them were either isolated or were just up to the mark.
Beto had a very shocking game & he won’t be starting again if he plays like that. Barry came on as soon as the first half ended.
Everton was continuously creating chances via the left-hand side & Liverpool were looking for a counter-attacking opportunity. Still, it was the Toffees who scored first in the form of Gana-Gueye.
Everton looked to attack but were out of ideas & couldn’t force a change in scoreline as the final whistle blew in favour of Liverpool.
Star Performer
There is no debate in this category, Ryan Gravenberch truly displayed his real talent & massive credit to Arne Slot for unlocking the best out of him.
Scorer of the first & creator of the second, Gravenberch truly showed a complete midfield performance.

With this, Liverpool would remain on top of the table & are well and truly the favorites this season. Everton would consider this a learning game & look to improve from here on.
With Isak also slowly getting integrated into this team, it’s only a matter of time before Liverpool starts to look more menacing than ever.
